We're building this letter in public
This is a note, not a full issue. Issue #001 lands August 1. Consider this the part of the show where the house lights are still on and we’re taping cables to the floor.
Here’s what we’re building: a free weekly letter about systematic trading, written by the team at Ferrante Capital. We research trading strategies, we test them against history, and we trade the survivors with our own money. Most candidates don’t survive. The letter is the build log: the ideas, the tests, the autopsies, and the occasional strategy that earns its keep.
Why build it in public? Because the standard move in this genre is the opposite: polish the wins, bury the losses, and imply a track record without ever showing one. We think the interesting part is the workbench, sawdust included. So we’re writing the letter, the site, and the process out in the open, before there’s an audience to impress. If something breaks, you’ll see us fix it.
Two things you should know before you sign up:
We trade our own capital using the same strategies we discuss. That’s the whole premise: you’re reading people with skin in the game. It also means we’re not neutral about the things we cover, so we say this plainly, here and in every issue.
This is an educational publication. Every reader gets the same letter on the same schedule. Nothing in it is individualized investment or trading advice, and we don’t answer “what should I do with my account” questions. We decline those not to be rude, but because declining them is exactly what keeps this an honest publication.
Between now and Issue #001 we’ll post one or two more notes like this, mostly about how we test and why we’re strict about it. If you’d like the letter when it starts, signup is one field and takes about four seconds.
